How Did Mark Kennedy Use Escalators Invented

Author Mark Kennedy believes some of the greatest inventions were invented because mankind was lazy and not intelligent. I agree with Kennedy’s statement because our laziness provoked these inventions. Our laziness of research on encyclopedias, traveling by foot or boat caused the inventions of the computer, airplanes and cars. These inventions were invented to make humans do less work and make life easier. Places like the mall, to get to the second floor you must use escalators instead of stairs. To walk on stairs you use your energy to get to the top. When using escalators you just have to stand still. Many people prefer using the escalators because they don’t use much of your energy. I believe escalators were invented because people didn’t want to go through the hassle of going up and down the stairs. Sometimes you have the option to use stairs or escalators. When I went to Universal Studios to get to the rides and roller coasters you must go down a hill. The hill was converted to stairs and escalators side by side. She tells me about how she would spend most of her high school days in the libraries reading books for research projects and essays. She was a responsible student and woke up every morning to go get her assignments done. Nowadays all we have to do is search things on google in our own home and we still procrastinate. I haven’t had to experience spending all my time in the library finding books about my research topic. Having the computer is a disadvantage because new generations don’t even know how to find a book in the library without someone helping them. Which makes us less intelligent than other generations before us. Many of my peers don’t even own a library card. My generation has an easy way of doing assignments due to the invention of computers.
