Instead, he decides to be a man by taking the proactive approach and use his own experiences to prevent others from going down the same road he did. Also, Johnson wrote a book in 1992 titled: “What you can do to Avoid AIDS.” All the profits from this inexpensive, paperback book go to the Magic Johnson Foundation, which helps young people with HIV/AIDS (Magic Johnson). This book helps to educate people, mostly young, about the dangers of HIV and how to avoid it. No matter how poor the person, they can probably afford this pamphlet-like book that Magic is selling for very low prices. This means that anybody who may be at risk for HIV can get help easily. Additionally, the Magic Johnson Foundation has donated 20 million dollars toward HIV/AIDS efforts alone, not to mention all the other charities he takes part in. They have also tested almost 40,000 individuals for HIV (Magic Foundation). 20 million dollars can go a long way, and it sure has with Earvin’s AIDS programs. Magic has done so much for HIV/AIDs with that $20 million; it’s hard to believe it hasn’t been cured yet.
