One of them happened in 1494 Florence’s leader Medici was overthrown due to the French invasion. This was the beginning of Machiavelli’s impact in the Renaissance because this was the start of him getting involved with the government. Under the republic Machiavelli worked many jobs such as Secretary to Council of Ten, then as a diplomat. With all of these jobs Machiavelli was moving up the ladder ready to take Medici’s place as ruler. Then in 1512 Medici was restored by the Spanish troops and abolished the republic. Soon after he got word that Machiavelli was going to take his seat, so Medici then exiled him. After that happened another one of the events that he did to impact the Renaissance was the writing of The Prince. When he was exiled the society was outraged and many stuck behind him. Most impact though came from when he published The Prince. The Prince impacted the Renaissance by opening the way people think also; it influenced artists. Even though it had positive feedback it became one of the most criticized works in the 16th century. Machiavelli became known as a man that complains the whole time. That is why he got created his own word Machiavellianism that means the view that politics is amoral and that any means however unscrupulous can justifiably be used in achieving political power. The Renaissance affected Machiavelli greatly especially after he was exiled. He had nothing to go to but only his writing and without that he would have never made people change their way of thinking about
