Leonardo da Vinci was a painter, architect, inventor, and student of all things scientific. He is known as “a Renaissance man”. While he was great at all of these he is possibly the most famous painter of all times. He was born on April 15, 1452 in Italy and died on May 2, 1519 in France. Only 15 of Da Vinci’s painting are known to exist as his own, some of the most famous include: Mona Lisa, The Last Supper, The Baptism of Christ, Adoration of the Magi, and Medusa. Leonardo had 16 step/half siblings, but none of them were his real/direct brothers or sisters. Da Vinci was a deep thinker and he was the first person to ever explain why the sky is blue and could write with one hand and draw with the other at the same time! Leonardo Da Vinci’s most famous painting is the Mona Lisa. The painting became famous after the painting was stolen from the Louvre in 1911. According to a face-recognition software, Mona Lisa is 83% happy, 9% disgusted, 6% fearful, and 2% angry. Another fun fact about Da Vinci is that he is left handed. Other left handed celebrities include: Napoleon, Michelangelo, Einstein, Bill Gates, Oprah, and Obama. Leonardo Da Vinci was also did some “heroic” actions such as buying caged animals at the market just to set them free., but Da Vinci didn’t find his life as heroic at all, in fact, his last words were, “I have offended God and mankind.
