He was born on the 15th of April 1452 in the west of Florence. His father Ser Piero da Vinci(an official who has the authority to certify legal documents)sent him to Andrea del Verrocchio(a well known painter, sculptor and goldsmith at the time) at the age of fifteen(1467) for training.
Andrea del Verrocchio was an extraordinary craftsman who expressed himself through the vibrancy of the human figure. These elements formed Leonardo’s artistic style. After completing his training he remained as an assistant in Verrocchio’s shop.
