King Louis xvi When it comes to a king what comes to one’s mind? A king is a male ruler of a independent state. A king can inherit the position by right of birth. The people of the state or country can elect a king. In my opinion, a king is somewhat like a president. A king has to make decisions, make laws, and keep everything under control. In this essay I will be discussing King Louis xvi. I will inform you about his early life, his reign, and the role he played in the French Revolution.

King Louis XVI was born in 1754. His real name is Louis-Auguste. He was born at night in the Palace of Versailles. King Louis XV and Queen Maria were his parents. Louis was a shy kid, but he was strong and in shape. He had many different talents at a young age. He was very good at Latin. He loved wrestling, and hunting. Louis was nicknamed Duc de Berry when he was born. In 1765 King Louis XVI father passed away from tuberculosis. Then five years later King Louis XVI became king. …show more content…
He was the last king of France. King Louis xvi mostly focused on religion and foreign policys. King Louis xvi gave French non-Catholics the right to practice their faith freely. King Louis supported the American colonies during the fight for independence. Although he was a good king, he almost make France go into bankruptcy in the early 1780’s. Soon after King Louis xvi started to take interest in the radical fiscal reforms. He stopped responding to people who offered to help him.
