Through out the 1700 and 1800s, solo keyboard music has consistently contained large leaps, various embellishments and imitation. While certain characteristics where consistent through out development purpose, form and technology continued to change impacting solo keyboard music. A major influence in keyboard music became available in 1722 when the damper pedal was added to the piano. The pedal became a huge influence in how the bass line was written, rather than appreciated broken chords. While a technological advance was very impactful to the development very important contributors included J.S Bach, Couperin, Chopin and Liszt.
