How Did Julius Caesar Influence European Civilization

One person that comes to mind when I think of European influence is General, dictator, and political leader, Julius Caesar. Most people know or at least heard the name Julius Caesar. He is portrayed in movies all over along with having his own huge section in all history books. Julius Caesar was not only a brilliant General who led a successful campaign, but was also a smart, effective politician. This shows how important Julius Caesar was and how he easily is noticed to have had the most influence on European civilization. Caesar was born into a well known but not a rich family. Caesar was a well educated child. During Caesars youth Rome was unstable. He was only sixteen when his father died and Caesar took charge of the family. Julius Caesar nominated himself as the new High Priest of Jupiter. As a priest he was engaged to a plebian girl, but Caesar broke off his engagement because being a priest he needed to be married to a patrician. His most impressive conquest include the capture of Gaul that helped expand rome all the way to the atlantic ocean. Julius Caesar had many other accomplishments besides his great conquest. Like I said before he was not only a great general, but a statesman, orator, and a historian. Being a statesmen, Caesar amended several laws to help fix the public. With that he brought a permanent law against fraud and many other social obscenity. He focused on organizing the bureaucracy of Roman Republic. Being a historian, Caesar wrote many thorough journals of his military conquest. Finally some other accomplishments by Caesar was the creation of the calender and newspaper. Caesar was the one who suggested the science behind the calender. Also Caesar made the first known newspaper which was to allow the public to be informed about the actions and functioning
