During World War II, there were many characters that influenced the way the war would be remembered. Everyone knows the horrid Adolf Hitler for his gigantic influence over World War II, which may make some citizens believe Hitler was fully responsible of the millions of Jewish people killed. Hitler was not the only one responsible for the multiple deaths of the Jews. Many people may not know who Josef Mengele, the “Angel Of Death”, is and what grand effect he had in World War II and the lives of many Jewish people.
Childhood
Josef Mengele was a “pleasant child”, most people that grew up with Dr. Mengele expressed. Many citizens, from whom the famous “ Angel Of Death” knew stated that they could have never have a seen Josef do the gruesome work he grew up to do. Josef Mengele was the eldest son of three. Josef’s family was not very peaceful many citizens state. Many people blame Josef’s Mother, Walburga Mengele, for what he had become. Josef later on described his mother of not capable of loving anything. Walburga was known to be cruel to everything on the planet. After Josef Mengele left his home, Gunzburg. Mengele went to Munich, where he studied philosophy. Later on, he went on to Frankfurt University to study medicine. In the year 1937, Josef joined Hitler by becoming a part of the Nazi Party. Soon after joining the Nazi’s, Josef joined the Schutzstaffe. Due to a severe injury, Josef was considered unfit for the military and was taken out. Soon as Josef recovered from his injury, he volunteered to work in concentration camps, where Josef Mengele was sent to Auschwitz, which was his grand entrance into World War II (History Learning Site paragraph
