John Lennon was the founder of one of the most influential and popular music groups of all time. The Beatles were very popular and had many good years before later breaking up. John Lennon went on to record songs solo, including “Imagine” written and released in 1971. His song was written when the Vietnam War was taking place and the lyrics talk about a time and/or place where everything that divides us is gone and there is peace. I chose this song because I like the message it sends, “Imagine all the people living life in peace” and I think this is something many people wanted in this post-war era.
