The story a retrieved reformation is about a former safe cracker in the early 1900s who just got out of jail and tries to change morally, but did he really change morally. Jimmy Valentine was supposed to serve a four year jail sentence but ending up serving a 10 month sentence, Jimmy Valentine got caught cracking a safe on the springfield job. So did Jimmy change or did he stay the same. Back when Jimmy was doing different safecracking jobs his partner and friend was Mike Dolan. Don't you think if you wanted a fresh start after getting out of jail wouldn't stay away from the people that got you into jail. During the story Jimmy tries to change his name to Ralph D. Spencer. but that necessarily change who you are, Jimmy was just trying to hide his identity. A few weeks later after Jimmy was released a bank was robbed a few miles away. Jimmy Valentine did not change his life morally because, He was still friends with Mike Dolan, there was a bank robbery that happened a little after jimmy was released, and

For example if jimmy would want to change he would not be around the people who helped get him into jail, but he did get a girlfriend named Annabelle Adams that turned out to be a bankers daughter. When Jimmy got out of jail he threw away his tools for safe cracking this does not necessarily mean that he changes his character. “She lowered her eyes and her face colored slightly.” that was a quote said by Annabelle Adams AKA Ralph D. Spencers acquaintance. Now she could be scared or embarrassed by Jimmy . Jimmy could also try to get to Mr. Adams Annabelle's dad and bank teller. When Agatha, and May (Annabelle's little sisters) accidentally locked may in the bank safe that Mr. adams was showing off jimmy saves the day and cracks the safe. After Jimmy saves May he just walks off without talking to Annabelle. If he could have talked to Annabelle he could of changed a little bit
