Effects of some racism at the time were the Jewish people being discriminated against by the Germans. The Germans put the Jewish people in death camps and never let them go to the Olympics. But that was stopped when the Olympic society said that the Germans need to have Jewish people at the Olympics or else the Olympics would not be held there. Jesse Owens and his relatives were discriminated against when Jesse was young. He and his family lived in Oakville, Alabama where they lived in a small hut working for a white crop owner.
