To start, Jean Piaget was a successful child prodigy. In high school Jean wrote a paper on mollusks. It was so well written that the experts reading the paper thought an adult that had written it. This is a quote said by Jean Piaget. "When you reach a child something you take away forever his chance of discovering it for himself." This quote is exactly what Piaget did not do. He learned about what interested him, himself. Later on, Jean took an interest in the way a child’s mind works. Jean is best known for the way he made cognitive development into series of stages. Since Piaget didn’t believe in any God he was limited, which resulted in failure for a theory. It has also been suggested that Piaget may have purposely not been sure of his religious beliefs so that he could have his work taken in by the scholarly community of scientists and psychologists. To support this argument, Piaget wrote in his autobiography in 1952. He had expected his psychological research to be over in five years but, he returned to complete his work in developing genetic epistemology. Understandings could have been more important as he attempted to find charts on the development of cognitive knowledge,moral and spiritual values in human
