Japan's only possible chance was a surprise attack to destroy the Pearl Harbor as fast as possible. The Japanese used multiple ships that had destroyed American fleet units. Ships had carried everyone's land bombs. The Japanese planes launched six aircraft carriers, two battleships, three cruisers, and eleven destroyers, onto the naval base. The bombing was a major part in how everything had started and ended. Japan used bombers, torpedo bombers and midget submarines to attack. Japan attacked the U.S. because America cut off it's oil exports to Japan, which they relied on America for about 80% of its oil. British carriers realized that the torpedo planes could successfully attack an enemy, but their warnings failed to reach Hawaii before the Japanese attack.
