How Did Japan Attack Pearl Harbor Dbq

December 7, 1941, was the big day where Japan had attacked Pearl Harbor. We went to WW2 with Japan because of them attacking us. (Document Hook, B, and D) are the three main documents that people believe are the reasons Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. In the (Hook) part it talked about the Immigration Quota Act. In document B it talked about the Japanese Expansion. Also in the document D it had a big deal about the Embargo which is another reason on why the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. Japan attacked Pearl Harbor because of the Embargo, the Japanese Expansion, and the oppressing by U.S/ Immigration quota act. In the (Hook and in document B) they were discussing on how they denied immigration to Indians, Chinese, and the Japanese. It made Japanese have to go and look for jobs somewhere else. Other states were against the Japanese immigration because they were all taking their jobs. Japan had created a puppet state called Manchuria where they created more living space, more natural resources, and more minerals. The puppet state was a controlled state by Japan. Japan wanted to start expanding to take over everything, to get revenge, and to make it better for them. One reason Japan attacked was to stop the country from coming to a three class nation. In (Document D) Japan Imported tons of oil, steel, and scrap iron. Japan needed a lot of oil for transportation and military equipment. They wanted to continue with the flow of oil coming to them but the president was getting a weird feeling and decided to stop the flow of oil because Japan was planning to attack. In the 1930’s 80% of Japan's oil came from the United States which is a good reason on how we know Japan was using the oil to start a war and attack the United states.
