For 128 years the religious Islamic words spread quickly and the religion was practiced. Over more years more people learned and spread religious beliefs to friends and family creating more followers, or Muslims, expanding the empire.
The early spread of the Islamic religions empire started with the prophet Muhammad. The prophet had gone to pray in a cave when Allah, or God, sent Angel Gabriel down to tell Muhammad that he was Allah’s new prophet and that he shall repeat certain words to people and lead them into believing in the Islamic religion. Muhammad did as he was told and Muslim’s were formed. People did not like this new religion and they starved the Islamic followers and rejected Muhammad’s teachings. The boycott did not have any influence on the Muslims, but eventually in 622, the beginning date of the Muslim empire, they went on a journey called the Hijrah to the land of Medina. Then the Meccans decided to go to war against those who were of the religion of Islam. The Muslims won the war and settled in Medina. One gift was a stipend or direct salary payment to warriors serving in the Islamic army. Tribesmen who rebelled against the regime or government in power lost their stipends for rebelling. Sometimes the stipends would be granted to the Persian or Armean nobles who cooperated with the Muslims in Iraq. Nobles also were required to embrace the Islam religion in order to receive their
