There was a couple different kinds of concentration camps. Some had the soul purpose to eliminate Jews. Others forced Jews to do hard labor. Neither gave anyone a chance to survive. Often times POW camps, (Prisoners Of War) and concentrations camps would intertwine and all of the captured people would be put in one small camp.
