Hitler’s Influence on the Modern World As one of the most well-known rulers, Adolf Hitler has impacted the world throughout his time as a dictator. Hitler, born April 20, 1889 in Austria, grew up in a Passau, Germany. Hitler excelled in primary school and was popular amongst his friends. But, this changed for him in secondary school. He became less popular amongst his friends and began to fail classes. So, he dropped out without a formal education. As he grew older, Hitler applied for jobs in Art but was declined. So, he became interested in politics and volunteered in the German army during World War I. In the post war years, Hitler became more interested in politics and began attending meetings for the German Workers' party. This was only the beginning to his rise to power and reign as one of the most influential dictators. When Hitler was elected chancellor, Germany’s economy was a disaster. More than 6 million people were unemployed. Hitler caused an “economic miracle”, dropping the number of unemployed people from 6 million to 300,000 in six years. But, these statistics were tainted due to Hitler’s policies. For example, women were not allowed to work and Jews were not considered citizens, so they were not included in the statistics. To help reduce the unemployment number, Hitler had the unemployed killed. Still, Hitler created many jobs, significantly decreasing the unemployment rates. Hitler created the National Labor Service, creating a number of new jobs. Also, Hitler began rearmament. This also decreased unemployment by creating new jobs in manufacturing.
