The desire to find golds and riches affected the early exploration of the Americas in a positive way. After Columbus landed on what is known now as the United States he felt a great amount of hospitality from the Natives. They gave him gifts made from gold and things made up of silk and etc. He wrote a letter explaining how great the hospitality is in the Americas and sent back to Spain. When the letter was reached land all the explorers wanted to go to the Americas so they could bring back gold and other riches to their country and leader. They wanted to gold and riches because they wanted it for their economy. The gold and riches would boost their economy to a very high level so they can outgrow their neighboring countries.
