In my opinion, I believe that when it comes to the 2000 presidential election between George W. Bush and Al Gore, Gore was the true champion. First of all, Gore flourished until the state of Florida came into play and the votes proved to be too close to call. If the votes were counted this way, a clear winner would emerge, despite the fact that Gore and Bush's numbers would be close. Since the votes from Florida had the ability to carry the election, the numbers would have still been close regardless. Furthermore, Al Gore was bound to win from the beginning, seeing as the public favored him over Bush.…

As a Republican candidate running for president, Trump thinks the immigrants are rapists, criminals, and drug dealers. Trump is bias towards the immigrants because he anticipates that the immigrants commit the majority of the crime and violence in America. From a moral standpoint, I believe Trumps immigration plan is unfair because it asserts certain groups of people to be different than the others. Although I am a U.S. citizen, my parents came from a different country. Consequently, Trump 's plan will deport my family, and my friends, and possibly your family and friends too.…

Election day is approaching and regardless of the outcome, it will definitely become a historic event. Timothy Egan (2016) shares his opinion towards Donald Trump in his Op-Ed article, “The Immigrants Turned Away.” He is certainly not a Trump supporter and uses the time remaining, before Election Day, to warn U.S citizens about Trump’s plans concerning immigration. Pathos is applied the most throughout Egan’s argument because he prefers to connect with his audience on a personal level. Ethos and logos appear in the argument to provide evidence and strengthen his writing.…

One of the most common misconceptions about Mexican immigration is that there is a positive correlation between increasing immigration and crime rate. When asked whether “immigration is causally related to more crime”, 73% of Americans sampled in the General Social Survey believed the statement to be at some level true (Martinez 2008:63). Criminality based stereotypes surrounding recent immigrants (based in xenophobic nationalism) have been used to increase discriminatory immigration policies, further empower border patrol agencies along the Southern border, and increase animosity toward immigrants in many countries. Organizations such as The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) and the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) have…

The American dream is often characterized or described with luxuries and fame, although this is not the wrong approach to the infamous American dream, this is the dream of the citizens of this country. The inevitable contrast between these two distinct approaches to the American dream,…
