During the late 1580’s, 1589, to be exact there were some popular beliefs during Galileo's experiment. The belief was, Galileo, was not very convinced at Aristotle work. Most of Galileo’s life he studied and studied with so many numbers, since that was pretty much what physics and math was. Therefore, he knew what he was doing during his own experiment. By 1589, during this time Galileo was already studying aristotle work at the age of 25 and analyzing in how he came up with his theory. Galileo, wanted to challenge Aristotle work for the better. All of these things could have led Galileo to where he was with his experiment. Galileo, also, wanted to prove aristotle wrong and gain respect from his colleagues. As well as, he wanted people know the right way of knowing math and physics. That’s why he studied everything he needed to know to perform this experiment. As well as, his dad wanting a better life for his own son and pushing him to go to a university to where he could learn medicine but soon on became interested in
