How Did Coach Londino Changed My Life

Whether you realize it or not, you changed my life. If it was not for you, I would not be the person I am today. I kept the secret of being raped inside for six long months. Until I was emotionally triggered by a movie on rape in my fourth period health class, I would have suppressed my pain for the rest of my life. After the rape scene of the movie, I shot up out of my seat and went to the bathroom. Tears streamed down my face, while so many emotions flowed through my body. Once I returned from the bathroom, my health teacher brought my outside of the classroom to be sure I was fine. I lied, I said I was fine and that my friend was raped which caused me to get emotional.
During ninth period, English class was held in the computer lab that day. I was minding my own business, and then I heard a familiar voice say “I have been looking around school for you all day”. Coach Londino then asked my teacher if it would be okay if I went to her office with her. I grabbed my belongings and went with Coach Londino to her office. Once her and I were in her office, we began with small talk, and then she eased her way into my emotional breakdown earlier in health

I am grateful beyond words, for having a second chance at life. To be stuck in a place of depression would have stopped me from succeeding in my life. Without Coach Londino I would not have gotten the proper treatment to recover from this trauma. It was the treatment that allowed me to regain my love and appreciation for my life. I no longer look at what happened to me in a negative light, I have acquired a new appreciation for my life. This is a life experience that made me better. I now am certified to help those in abusive relationships, I am a student counselor, I am involved and create events with regards to sexual assault.
