Christopher Columbus is one of the best known figures in world history. He credited to be the first person to discover America. We all know about his journey over to the Americas in hopes to find a quicker route to the Indies. He took three ships, the Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria, and sailed across the Atlantic Ocean. He arrived on one of the many islands in the Bahamas, claiming it for Spain, on October 12, 1492. This allowed the Americas and the European nations to become connected.
