How Did Chris Mccandless Get Into The Wild

The wild was a place where Chris Mccandless was able to let go of everything, he believed that Ron would find the same peace as well as happiness if he explored just a bit. Throughout the book there is plenty of evidence where Mccandless shows that he doesn’t really need to be social or need new things to be happy. At first, I feel as if he didn’t convince Ron that there was a lot to explore, until he got attracted to Chris and saw the kind of person he was. Chris does provide evidence about his assertions about life. For example, Chris went into the wild because he didn’t want to do the same thing over and over again, He was passionate about his journey, and was able to convince Ron as well as myself. He wanted try new things, and the only person stopping him was himself until he went out into the wild. He wanted Ron to see what else there was out there. Ron had spent most of his life in the army, and after his wife and son died he was alone, and always in church. Chris had mentioned to Ron that he should change the way he live, but he didn’t think much of it. Krakauer states, “Astoundingly, the eighty-one-year-old man took the brash twenty-four-year-old vagabond’s advice to heart.” (pg. 58) It’s also said that Ron moved out of his apartment and set up camp on the bajada. This proves that with the letter Chris send Ron about not needing anyone or anything to to find a new kind of light in life or to even be happy, Ron took into consideration what he should
