I believe that Benjamin Franklin most definitely should be the Person of the Century. He made a lot of contributions to us through inventions, literary work, and politics. Ben Franklin is a very powerful and intelligent man. He was able to rise out of poverty to become a wealthy, famous and influential person. He was able to do this through hard work, dedication, and ingenuity. Even before George Washington earned the title Franklin was considered to be “ The Father Of Our Country.” He was a very important man to our nation beginnings. This information will give a good look at how he helped change and make our new nation and also why he most certainly deserves this award.

He created the first fire department in Philadelphia and six years later set up the first fire insurance. Franklin invented bifocals so you don’t have to change glasses all the time.
