First, Benjamin Franklin was a big part of politics, government and our new nation. First of all, Congress sent him to France to enlist aid for the American Revolution. He helped us tremendously and made it so much better for the war. He was the only American to sign all four documents that established the new nation. He signed both the Alliance with France and England. Franklin was a delegate to the Constitutional Convention. He was one of the Framers who decided on what would be in the Constitution. Ben was an intelligent inventor and made many things happen that were unbelievable and outstanding. He created the Franklin Stove in 1742 which was a stove that was more heat and less smoke. Then he did an experiment with kite and key then discovered electricity. Ben Franklin was the first postmaster general. He created the first fire department in Philadelphia and six years later set up the first fire insurance. Franklin invented bifocals so you don’t have to change glasses all the time.
