How Did Automatic Gear Shift Influence The Car

Richard Spikes invented numerous inventions. Among his creation, one specific innovation impacted society greatly. Automatic gear shift influenced the car and the driver. His improved automatic gear shift enabled the driver to change speed during driving. Original cars only had the function of stopping or driving in constant speed. After improvement, drivers were able to drive on the speed they felt safe. Also, the innovated gear shift allowed drivers to reverse gear and make backward movement. By using this new innovation, people were able to change speed while driving and reverse the gear.
