How Did Audrey Hepburn Lead To Success

Audrey Hepburn is one of the most famous stars of the twentieth century. She starred in over a dozen movies and helped others while becoming a humanitarian in her later years. Before fame, she played minor roles in films. And like most small girls, she started off with a dream to grow up to be a symbol of grace-- a ballerina-- a popular choice among girls. Although her dream didn’t come true, she was led down another path which led her to happiness. The star of Roman Holiday, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and many more was born Audrey Kathleen Hepburn-Ruston on May 4th, 1929 to Joseph Victor Anthony Ruston, and a daughter of a wealthy family, Baroness Ella Van Heemstra. The show ran for around 200 shows and even went on tour. It was a great success, receiving many great compliments from viewers and critics. The New York Times called her out, saying, “her quality is so winning and she is so right that she is the success of the evening” (wikipedia.com)
After the success of “Gigi”, Audrey began her career in acting, first with Roman Holiday. She starred as a young royal woman with a desire to explore the city that she would rule one day, sneaking out for quite an adventure with Gregory Peck, who plays an American newsman, at her side. Roman Holiday had been yet another success, and drew Audrey Hepburn into the fate of performing for the rest of her youth.
After many great films, Audrey wanted to help others less fortunate than her, becoming a humanitarian, which stood by her quote, “I was born with an enormous need for affection, and a terrible need to give it” (brainyquote.com). She gave children her love and adults her trust, care, and
