Astronomer Copernicus determined the concept of a solar system, in which the sun, not the earth, is the center of the universe. The center of the earth is not the center of the universe, but only the center of gravity. All the spheres revolve about the sun as their middle point, and that is why the sun is the center of the universe and the solar system.
