Why alliances caused WW1
Two alliances one war millions of deaths this is why alliances caused world war one.
The two alliances that changed the world the triple alliance made up of the Austria-Hungary, Germany and the Ottoman empire and the triple Entente made up of England, France and Russia. These two alliances also had dozens of over countries that were helping the three main power houses on either side. These alliances were set of by events that would not have happened if alliances did not exist, so alliances caused world war one but here is some more detail.
Firstly, I will be discussing how alliances caused the world to become a massive tinderbox and so when events like the Bosnian crisis happened everyone became on edge and this arguably started the war. The tinderbox is something that when a match is struck you throw it on a tinderbox to create a bigger fire this effect in world war one is that if one country tries something everything goes up in flames which eventually does happen. The tinderbox of world war one goes as follows if say if Austria attacks Siberia then Germany will defend Austria then England will defend Siberia then Italy will help Germany then Russia will help England and then you have a world war. The event that I will speak on are the assignation of Archduke Ferdinand. The murder of Archduke Ferdinand was one of the main trigger events of world war one. The group that killed the archduke was called the Black Hand this was a group of Siberian rebels they then tried to kill the archduke with a bomb but failed then they then later that day they convoy took a wrong turn and encountered another member of the Black Hand that killed both him and his wife not 2 months after his murder world war 1 started and this was because of the tinder box
