In our research I had learned that, “All in all, hundreds of thousands of Mexican immigrants, especially farm workers, were sent out of the country during the 1930s--many of them the same workers who had been eagerly recruited a decade before” and that, “In some Northern cities, whites called for blacks to be fired from any jobs as long as there were whites out of work. Racial violence again became more common, especially in the South. Lynchings, which had declined to eight in 1932, surged to 28 in 1933.” The Mexicans who WERE American citizens were deported back to Mexico, with no say what so ever. They had to leave everything they knew and grew up with. As in family, friends, school, and their houses. Some kids who went back to Mexico didn't go back to school or have a functional house. And as for African Americans, they were fired and forced to give up their jobs so that the white men were able to get work. It didn't matter to the owners how well the African Americans worked and or their ability, they only cared about the fact they have a different color
