Not only does dance positively impact someone's mental health, it also can help improve their physical health. As dance is a form of exercise it helps to build or tone muscle, lose or control weight, and even lower depression. In fact, one of the most major effects on a dancer's body is weight control. “Depending on the specific type of dance, a dancer can lose a tremendous amount of weight. For example, the highest calorie burning form of dance is ballet. It is said that a ballerina can burn up to 432 calories per hour while engaging in this activity” (Cipolla, 2013). Other forms of dance that are used as exercise include Zumba and Jazzercise, which combine aerobic exercise and dancing to jazz or latin music. Exercise is a key point in staying
