I became a go-getter kind of person when someone tells me I am unable to achieve something I have to prove them wrong and achieve beyond expectation. This is why when competition season came around I put my 110% to show that I obtained my best and was doing my all to win. On my team giving up was not an option. Our coach would not allow that behavior and if you showed it she would show that you are replaceable so you better try your best. There was always competition between my teammates. It was nonstop fighting for your spot on the team. This I feel benefitted me because it forced me to do everything to maintain my position. Along with forcing me to do my best, competition kept me balanced. Like every other sport to be an active member on the team you had to maintain a certain grade average. I recall seeing one girl taken off the team until she improved in school. Of course I made sure never to get to that point. On my cheer team I had one of the most important position which was flyer. Since I started cheer very early I was one of the most experienced flyers. I could not mess up because I had to maintain a self image and be an example to those learning from me. It took all my energy to work at my goal rather than sit on my couch at home and do nothing. Whenever I did physical activity I pushed my body to its limits but, in order to do this I had to have endurance and dedication. I would push myself to greatness which in my opinion separates the winners and losers. The winners do the maximum to achieve their goal while the losers are trying their least or minimum. What you put in is what you get out. Jennifer Lopez lives by this quote. She says, “You get what you give, What you patient things is what you et out of them” (Jennifer Lopez 241). My coach also would tell my team always give your 110% no matter what. I definitely saw the difference when I would not try to when I did and the outcome would be what was expected. Competition taught me to be responsible for my actions. So in a way it change me for the better by teaching me about my
