College has always been where I saw myself in the future, and I got here way faster than I ever thought I would. Sometimes it still doesn’t feel real, I’m in college. I’m going because it’s what you do. To get a decent job these days, you have to have a good education. I never thought about not going, I think it’s just how I grew up. I’m excited to be in college and taking the next big leap into my life. College is different, it will shape me into the person I will always be. I want to have a family, be successful, and be happy in my future; that is why college is important to me. My parents never went to college and they live happily, but they do wish they had better paying jobs. I look up to my parents and they want the best for me, so going to college to try and get the best possible future; motivates me. …show more content…
I do want to make new friends and find myself. I can’t wait to see what kind of person I become and I want to come out of college confident with my identity. That can be helpful in my future, when it comes to jobs and meeting new people. Being confident is a skill I would like to achieve. It takes time and isn’t always easy but there is no better place to learn confidence than college. I would also like to learn how to communicate and manage my time. I can give speeches fairly well but don’t always have the easiest time with expressing my honest opinion. I have to write a ton of essays for classes so finding my voice is a skill that I will be able to develop and continue to use throughout my life. I usually manage my time well but put off things I don’t want to do or don’t know how to do, till the last minute. I want to break that habit and get things done in a timely
