Every winter you walk outside and you see birds flying south, also known as migration. With the help of climate change, it is messing up the birds’ migration instinct. Not helping climate change! In an article called” How Climate Drives Bird Migration” by David Tenenbaum, he talks about this issue. Tenenbaum uses data from an irruption (sudden burst of a number of animals) study based by citizen scientist (average people recording or doing things related to science) observations climate dipoles and facultative migration, how their studies allowed scientist to quantify the nature of the irruptions evidence to support their data, and compelling word choices to strengthen the logic and persuasiveness of his argument. Like I said before citizen scientist could be people like me and you, observing the world around them and sending their findings to the professionals. Even the amateurs can make the door a bit wider for this problem, to the scientist (such as meteorologist, climate scientist, and ornithologists).
