China has a vast infrastructure plan to compensate for the enormity in actual size of land that makes up the country. China has a telecommunications infrastructure that continues to expand, especially in the last few decades. China’s telecommunications industry is nationalized like many of its other industries. The three major operators are China Telecom, China Mobile, and China Unicom, all providers of mobile and land phone lines. (Central Intelligence Agency). Like previously mentioned, these three companies are nationalized with the major owners of each being China. All TV and radio is monitored and approved by the government. The broadcast media is also a nationalized industry in China. Even foreign programs must be first approved by the Communist party. The Central Propaganda Department comes out with what is permissible and not permissible (Central Intelligence Agency). The total distance of roadways in China is 4,106,387 km with 3,453,890 km of them actually paved road (Central Intelligence Agency). The total distance of railways in China is 191,270 km (Central Intelligence Agency). China has an extremely long coastline. There are many major seaports along this coast. Some of them are Dalian, Ningbo, Qingdao, Qinhuangdao, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Tianjin (Central Intelligence Agency).
