Since the last hundred years family life has changed dramatically the way they behaved and socialise. Many families have changed in many different ways some have change in a good way and some in a bad way. For example, more mothers work outside the house , more school educated, different races, and the usage of more technology. In this paper it will be discussed how a child’s development has been changed and influenced by environmental and cultural influences as well as parenting styles.

Children in the past moved a lot and their sensory world was simple and nature based. Now they rely on technology for the majority of their plays, limiting challenges to their creativity and imaginations, as well as limiting necessary challenges to their bodies to achieve motor development. Overall it can be seen that there has been a lot of radical changes in the concept of family over the last 100 years. In my perspective ,family is an essential part of everyone’s development. A family can determine who you are going to be and your family values determines what your relationship with other will be like.
