How Censorship Changed My Life

Censorship is a kind of potion that can be used properly or improperly . We either receive the good parts of it that heals us to become a better person or a poison that can just block the moral values of the censor. When I was a little boy I had never paid attention to what censorship was. I was always told not to do this, or look at that, or I couldn’t watch this. I would always follow but didn’t know why I couldn't do certain things. I was always so angry when I couldn’t do these things because they were “censored” by my parents. The first time I truly understood what “censorship” signified was when I had commenced my freshman year of high school. When I initially learned of censorship, I would think back to when my parents advised me not to do certain things. I was always taught that drugs and drinking were bad. I would always get the lecture of “Don’t do drugs, they’re bad for you.” or things like “Don’t drink alcohol.” I was also not allowed to watch things pertaining to pornography. I started to notice that most the kids around me knew about this stuff and I didn’t. I would see kids watching porn on their phones. I would also see kids smoke weed and tobacco off campus. Moreover, I would hear kids talk about parties they were throwing and how there would be alcohol to drink. In my mind I was thinking “wow what were these kids getting into?” Later, on in school we learned the benefits and cons of censorship.As I started to learn what censorship was, I learned that my parents did do the right thing to censor those kinds of actions away from me. Their
