INTRODUCTION
Cancer can be defined as a special kind of illness that occurs when the cells in a given part of a body begin to grow out of proportion than is normal. Currently, in the United States, this disease is the second leading cause of deaths. Human beings over the history have had tumors and remedies have been implemented, and others continue to be performed and studied over time (American Cancer Society, 2010). These methods of treatment include chemo-preventive methods and of late natural products and compounds extracted from plants, and other organisms are being used as anticancer agents (Deepa, Samundeeswari, & Nirmala, 2011). The evidence of cancer has been found in ancient fossils and bones in Egypt.

An essential ingredient to be utilized in the process is the Alamar Blue Cell Viability Reagent, which is known for its reducing function. The declining ability of a cell is directly proportional to the quantitative measure of its proliferation activity. In the context, determination of the reducing capacity of a given cell will play a critical role in the establishment of its relative cytotoxic activity. The analogy is based on the idea that cells maintain a reducing environment while in their cytosol state. Because the Alamar blue reagent contains resazurin as its active ingredient, it is used in the reduction of resorufin on the subjected cells in the experiment. Resazurin is a non-toxic and non-fluorescent cell-permeable compound, which has a blue consistency. Conversely, Resofurin is a highly fluorescent red colored compound. When the components interact, viable cells are actively involved in the conversion of resazurin to resofurin. For the study, dimethyl sulfoxide was sourced from Sigma-Aldrich. DMSO is an organic compound with sulfur, as well as a colorless and hydroscopic organic liquid with the molecular formula C2H6OS. The compound DMSO easily dissociates into an array of elements. Despite being an organic compound, it is also hydrophilic, making it a useful control element for the study.
3.6. Tamoxifen Similar to DMSO, Tamoxifen was obtained from Sigma-Aldrich. Tamoxifen is a steroidal compound, which exhibits anti-cancer properties. It has also been found to be a viable ingredient in the management of advanced estrogen-dependent breast cancer. In the study, tamoxifen was used as a supplementary toxin to compare the inhibition of Echinacea Angustifolia extracts using he excerpts from podophyllum peltatum. A portion of tamoxifen stock solution was then dissolved in 1 ml of dimethyl sulfoxide.
3.7. Alamar Blue Alamar Blue was a useful component for cell treatment. The compound has always yielded reliable cells to ascertain cell viability. When cells are exposed to Alamar Blue reagent, a bright red color indicates that the cells are viable. In contrast, a dark blue consistency in the cells is evidence that the subject cells are dead.
