How can America truly understand the worth of Black lives if we ourselves don 't fully know our own worth? It seems that America has forgotten all of the contribution that Black live brought to the table by inventors such as : Elijah McCoy, Lewis Howard Latimer, George Washington Carver and Madame C.J. Walker ,or what about the poets such as: Phillis Wheatley Paul Laurence Dunbar Maya Angelou Langston Hughes and even the military soldiers such as: buffalo soldiers, the United States ' first all-African-American regiment, the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry. These people did all these great things in history only to have it thrown back in their faces. I know you 're probably wondering what do I mean by having it thrown back in their faces, well history has taught us about all of the thing our ancestors has done for us the sit in walk in the lynchings, discrimination name calling only to have those same thing done to the newer generation due to own ignorance.Confucius once said that “Ignorance is the night of the mind, but a night without moon or star.”

My personal experience was my 11th grade year at WHitehaven High School. I walked into my english class and I noticed that every desk had a piece of paper on it, once I picked up the paper I noticed the top of it ,it read Willie Lynch Letter.
