How Bullying Affects Teens

Throughout the nation twenty percent of teen grades nine through twelve have experienced bullying (Prevent). Bullying is a worldwide problem that affects one out of five in our country, bullying affects teens and communities even though we anti bullying laws in every state we still have that twenty percent. Teen bullying has a background to it and it affects one fifth of teens in the united states even though we have anti bullying laws in every state. There are three different types of bullying physical social and verbal.
Physical is the one usually seen in movies this is when the bully physically harms the victim with usually by punching, kicking, and spitting, Verbal is when the bully teases the victim and calls them names. Lastly social is when the bully tells everyone to not be friends with you. Bullying usually happens at schools, playgrounds ,and school buses.(prevent). The victims of bullying later in life develops anxiety, depression which could lead to teen suicide, other health problems, and skips or fakes being sick often (prevent). Which the victim will try finding something that calms them and gets rid of their problem is could be drug or alcohol (prevent). The bully devolves drugs and alcohol abuse, aggressive behavior, has a higher chance to become a criminal, and is likely to abuse their family (prevent). So not only the victim is affected but the bully and maybe his family are also affected by bullying (prevent). I believe that bullying is the main reason for school shootings, because with bullying the victim sometimes dehumanised.
