his mother and her Christian parents, his father, Barack Obama, Sr. with whom he lived only as a baby, he characterized as a Muslim-raised atheist, and his stepfather, Lolo Soetoro, with whom he lived during his early childhood, was believed to be Muslim.
Early life: Barack Obama was the first to have a white mother and a black Kenyan father. Obama attended both a government-run school where he received some instruction in Islam and a Catholic private school where he took part in Christian schooling. Barack Obama lived with his stepfather, mother, and his half sister. His mother later lived in indonesia.
