Throughout the two stories, both of the young lovers are madly in love, they show it in multiple different ways. In Romeo and Juliet, Romeo hears the news that his wife Juliet has died although it never really happened. Romeo chooses to go to an apothecary and buy a poison to allow him to die so he won't have to live without his lover. “ Romeo: There is thy gold- worse poison to men’s souls…. To Juliet's’ grave for I must use thee.” (Shakespeare 469). This quote us showing the relation to the poison and how he plans to use it. In the Short story Pyramus and Thisbe, Pyramus walks upon a cloak of Thisbe’s that has been chewed up by a lioness and that leads him to believe that she is dead, although she is not. He then raises his sword and stabs himself so that way he will not have to live without his beloved. “ It was I who killed you, he said ... He drew his sword and plunged it into his side.” ( Ovid 489) Both couples ultimately killed themselves but the men in retrospect did it differently under different
