One of my main forms of social media is Tumblr, and one blog I’d been following for a while was a blog run by a Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood fan (named Alex). On account of October 3rd being an important date in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, it’s known by fans as “FMA day” (“FMA” is an acronym for Fullmetal Alchemist). Consequently, the fanbase celebrates by posting fan content of some kind, such as fan art. 2016 was an especially significant year for the fanbase because the manga (the source material for the anime) first came out in 2001, which meant that this was the 15th anniversary of its debut. The people were all easy to talk to. Moreover, I found it easier to talk to them considering we all had a common interest.
After the streams were over, I decided to try and break out of my shell again. So, I messaged one of the people I met at the streams named Rilie. Rilie was kind and funny, so she and I hit it off almost immediately. Now, we talk on practically a daily basis.
