How Adversity Affects A Person's Life

Adversity can be getting kicked out of a home because of fighting back against abusive parents, adversity can be selling a family heirloom in exchange for heroin, even being cursed at by an uber driver. The measured unit of adversity is time and struggle. By measuring third world problems with first, proportions are greatly unequal in terms of talent, in the letter of adversity. However, in the spirit of adversity, circumstances remain case by case because of adversity’s relation with trauma, difficulty, and misfortune. Adversity changes the world view of a developing person’s life, which opens doors to self discovery and perseverance in finding talent. Humans think they’re special. Scientifically, the average person thinks their above average, which is not true due to if every one is above average than “above average” is average. The problem this creates is that the “above average” person has a special skill that would make them “above average.” Said person has an individual life that makes them different from the seven billion people in the …show more content…
For example, for an upper middle-class person school supplies are viewed as easily accessible to buy and supply the student with. However, for a student in poverty it may be impossible to buy these supplies themselves, so they seek assistance with the school to provide supplies for them. The student with the upper middle-class life can have these supplies but for their support network for school is limited due to parental abuse and have a diminished self esteem to even succeed. Whereas the student in poverty can have a positive support system and a higher self esteem and drive to succeed. These examples of adversity seem polar but each person has their own turmoil that affects who they are. This changes their life permanently to the extent that it can determine their personality, drive, and confidence to follow their dream and
