Barrier to access are factors that hinder or prevent service users from obtaining the care services that they want, have a health or care-related need for, and may even have a legal right to. Such barriers may result from the way that a GP surgery operates, in terms both of what it does and what it does not do for service users. Barriers to access can also be external to, and outside the direct control of the GP surgery, such as service users living long distance from the surgery. (Wash et al 2005).

It will be less stressful for the patient and staff meaning everyone is happy and relaxed, it would be easier for the message to be understood and delivered. Another way to promote a positive care environment as all types of people with different barriers and difficulties would feel welcomed and everyone would be able to understand each other better. Also to promote a positive care environment as it will make the doctor feel more comfortable and safe when talking to the patient as they know the patient will not get aggressive towards
