How his past shaped the president we know today
In his most famous speech, “The Gettysburg Address” Abraham lincoln stated “...this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom...” Abraham Lincoln believed in freedom. Not only did he become one of the most recognisable presidents in US history, his words in the Gettysburg Address became a line in the pledge of allegiance, a pledge that schools across america say, morning after morning. His parents, early life, and sister; all contributed to making this amazing man. Abraham Lincoln was a honest person, a fair person, and arguably one of the greatest US presidents history has ever known.
