This plane (above) was the first successful heavier-than-air powered aircraft that the Wright brothers built and tested out. After they had their first successful flight, they built and tested several other aircraft of their design (below). The first one in 1900 is their glider that they first tested out and flew. The second plane is the Wright Flyer I which was the first successful flight. The plane still had several issues and could only go up and down. The second plane, the Wright Flyer II, was similar, and had similar issues. The last one, the Wright Flyer III, was the first completely able plane and could follow the three axes that airplanes today use.
