Over the summer of 2016, I attended the AASC Summit with the Lake Hamilton High School’s Student Council, where I learned just how amazing the buildings are, and also got a sense of direction. I also attended the 2016 Computer Science Focus Weekend, where I got to meet some of the students there and learn a bit from the teachers there. The Focus Weekend told me about the community the students have with one another, and how seriously their resolve to learn is. I really believe that I can meet the high standards of ASMSA, and that I can not only meet, but exceed any and all expectations set before me.
Grit. Persistence. Faith. Resolve. Dedication. No matter what you call it, successful people draw upon internal forces and external support when times get tough. Describe a situation in which you have experienced difficulty, overcome adversity or encountered an ethical question. How did you face this experience, and what did you learn from it?:
The life has been difficult for me and my family, because for as long as I could remember, my parents were addicts. Though only to tobacco, it affected me in ways they didn’t understand. Through the effects of second-hand smoking, their cigarettes (and the occasional cigar) gave me and my brother’s clothing the stinking smell of smoke, which despite our best efforts, drew negative publicity to us. My parents also began a new type of drug, which is used as a joke on the internet, and it was called …show more content…
My Grandpa and Dad both like to make things, while my Mom reads an almost irrational amount of books. Both of my brothers (future applicants) are almost as much of a nerd as I am. My youngest brother Joseph likes to listen to Rock and Roll music, and play Dungeons & Dragons, while my other brother Dylan prefers to watch the occasional anime (also called Japanese Cartoons). I, personally, like to do everything that is stereotypical of a nerd. I’m an obsessively passionate individual who knows way too much about video games, Dungeons & Dragons, and even computers. I not only accept the nerd lifestyle, but I conform to
