Not an excuse, I used
ADHD instead as an opportunity to create a better version of myself.
Being more focused throughout the day enabled me to accomplish many academic awards, and gave me the time needed to also accomplish honors outside the classroom with volunteer work, dance, girl scouts and other activities.
In a few years no one will remember my GPA, honors, or school courses.
But they will remember me as a consistently determined, hard working student. Having been diagnosed with ADHD and learning to successfully manage it has been the catalyst of defining who I am, and the reason why I will continue to thrive in the classroom and in life. This challenge taught me perseverance, time management, and to seek help as needed. Because of this experience, I have learned many life lessons, have excelled in and out of the classroom and now am excited to continue my successes as a South Carolina
