There are many different styles and strategies that authors use in their writing to get the audience’s attention or calling for actions. The authors use different strategies and styles in their writing to introduce their topic and their arguments. Each author has their own styles and strategies that they use to convey to the audience. In the article by Jean Kilbourne, “Two Ways A Woman Can Get Hurt: Advertising And Violence,” she talks about how women are being represented in the media as subordinate and as an object, in which those things lead to violence and abusive relationship. On the other hand, an article by Michael Kimmel, Violence” and “Bros Before Hos: The Guy Code,” Kimmel talks about the society standards for male. Furthermore, guys are taught to be strong and cannot show their emotions in any given situation. In two articles, both authors have different styles and strategies as well as similarity in their writing; such as purpose, intended audience, genre, stance, media/design, Logos, Ethos, and Pathos.
